Noble Eatery — Sandwiches, Salads and Stellar Bread

Post by Skillet Doux »

No thread on Noble Eatery yet, so I figure it's time to get one started.

I popped in for a quick lunch with Kid #1 today, and managed to tear myself away from the Italian to try the special of the week:

Nice, thick, flavorful roast beef, fired in-house and stacked up with slabs of fresh mozzarella, roughly chopped pepperoncini, a handful of peppery arugula and a smear of aioli. But as good as the beef is, the star — contain your shock — is the seeded hoagie roll. They could put just about anything on this roll and I'd eat it. Tender, flavorful, nice crisp on the crust. I know, news flash, the bakery makes a killer roll. But I felt it should be appreciated.

And heck, for good measure, here's a brutally overexposed shot of the Italian I monched a couple of months ago. With all due respect to the city's various Italian delis, this is my favorite Italian sub in town. It isn't just a wall of meat. It's quality cuts. That giardiniera is tops. (Again, News Flash: Raducha is from Chicago.) And again, the roll. Man.

Plus I love that if you look at the front window from the right angle it's a "woo-fired" establishment.
